Decontamination and more
   with water vapor plasma- technology

Function and operation

Surfaces are stripped and decontaminated as outlined below :

The plasma torch is moved over the area to be treated. The temperature in this sector is approx. 2,000-4,000 °C (the melting point of e.g. iron is approx. 1,700 °C).

This step strips away the contaminated surface. The high temperature causes the stripped particles to crystallize. At such temperatures, there are virtually no harmful substances left.

Particles are enclosed, i.e. rendered non-reactive, in just a single operation.

First, they are collected via the high-performance suction unit (transporter) with special filter and the preseparator and its steel bonnet with impact separator.

The separated particles are then also cooled and settled out (deposition).

Finally, the volumetric flow releases only clean air.

An innovative, intelligent controller governs the entire system and how the individual units interact.

It switches and regulates the functions, records all the relevant system parameters during operation and supplies the corresponding data.

General automation takes place via the control cabinet and control panel with touchscreen.

The manual button on the plasma torch is used to switch on the suction unit. The control panel displays the air volume.

When the suction unit reaches full load, the torch is ready for use. Decontamination is enabled after a defined waiting time.

The operating time of the anode and cathode is calculated by means of an operating hour meter and temperature control.
In case of interruption, the suction unit switches off automatically after an adjustable delay time.

The fill level of the water container in the torch and the water/particle level in the preseparator are recorded.

The measurements are displayed by means of bar charts on a screen page on the display device. Current measurements are displayed alongside previous measurements.

The following measurements are required:

  • Volumetric flow in the suction unit(a. distance torch / suction unit)
  • Water level in the plasma unit
  • Differential pressure at the filter of the suction unit
  • Fill level of the water bath in the preseparator
